He hasn't getting more popular, so odds that he can pull off another win against all odds seems to be low, and it seems better for Trump's legacy and self-esteem to just bow out and let Pence take over the nomination.
Taking bets, but I've convinced myself this is more likely. |

And i doubt it'll look bad enough for him to even consider it. He will take some losses (but I don't think lose either house) in 2018, recalibrate again, and start doing what he does best - campaign. Plus I don't see the dems having a candidate that trump will fear. |
