The attitude is very much, you're a professional, we expect you to act like professionals and deal with it. Lawyers are self-driven workaholics so it works.
If you tried that in 98% of office situations it would be chaos.

About 3 weeks into BIGLAW. Been that way ever since.
20 consecutive years of education in preparation for a "real" career, and 3 weeks into it I realized it was all flame and completely unhealthy.
