Once I got some experience, nobody even read the education section of my resume. Also, I like to think that not taking the bar helped me, because it allowed me to easily prove I was not just going to leave the moment somebody offered me a law job.

I know plenty of people who graduated below median at T25 ITE circa 2009-11 that couldn't find shit for the first 6 months and were legit depressed. All of them eventually found something and several are in pretty good positions now. How did they do it? I'm not sure but it wasn't the Biglaw route. The job market is much better these days so maybe look for contract administrator type work, doc review, law clerk for a state court judge or prosecutor, public defender, find some shitlaw office that'll pay you shit but give you experience, look for govt work at Fed, State and local level, gotta get creative with your search.

I have been an exemplary employee, and I have used CSLG principles to create referral sources for myself that have paid big dividends. I am going to leave this firm soon, mainly because I just don't feel cut out for being an employee or even a partner. I know I can do better for myself and hopefully soon-to-be family as a solo practitioner.

I invested in LINK, SOL and FTM early enough along to where I have a cushion of money that will last me several months while I'm getting started (not that I think I will need it).

I'm happy. I am not defined by law school. I am who I am, and I like who I am. Can't wait to see what the future holds. I think I will probably practice law for 15 or so more years, and then I will take cases rarely and live off of investments after that while chasing good weather.
