There is even a story posted on the Chabad website that's told as a folksy folk tale allegory about how important it is to rule with humility when you have power but it's actually lifted from an old and archaic eclipse/moon ritual practiced in the city states of Mesopotamia.

I've had significant theories about how if you look at the Babylonian temple administration practices you can see the development of a lot of commercial usury and population control mechanics that later manifest in other forms - especially in the behavior of Rabbanites |
