The worst part is the belief that the sooner the world erupts in violent chaos, the faster new kingdom will come.

yeah, one of my big moments was when I saw a section in bava kama or something that was lifted almost verbatim from some Mesopotamian legal text.

There's alot of overlap situations the deeper you go. Especially if you reference a lot of the law codes like Hammurabi's Code or the Code of Ur-Nammu against the 613 Mitzvos and other stuff.

There is even a story posted on the Chabad website that's told as a folksy folk tale allegory about how important it is to rule with humility when you have power but it's actually lifted from an old and archaic eclipse/moon ritual practiced in the city states of Mesopotamia.

I agree WRT to there huge differences between the Torah and other codes, especially the presence of chukkim commandments and the lack of any such things in comparable Mesopotamian law codes.

I've had significant theories about how if you look at the Babylonian temple administration practices you can see the development of a lot of commercial usury and population control mechanics that later manifest in other forms - especially in the behavior of Rabbanites

I think it is most resonable to assume that the modern day Persian gulf was a fertile valley that was flooded at some point, and at the bottom of the gulf could have been Gan Eden
