Well connected Chad banker/PE brahs and braindead TA-using traders' nepotistic days are DONE with these superhuman 150iq algorithm aspies w/ brains hooked up directly to supercomputers now. Mark my words bros. All the trading will be algorithms written by mathmos now.

Picture jewish out of touch boomer running into NYSE to try and salvage the damage after losing truckloads of client money 6 quarters in a row to optimized machine-learning computer programs programmed over the YEARS like a fine wine aging - specifically to cuckold everyone out of their COLD | HARD | CASH

"WAT'S ALL DIS COMPUTAH MESHUGANA GOIN ON??? OY VEY! HEY, SOMEBODY? GET ME 100000 SHARES OF JOHNSON AND JOHNSON, I READ THE REPORTS, GONNA BE UP 0.0005% THIS QUARTER!!! PLEASE, ANYONE!!"

*yuge mainframe going BLEEEEP*

"WAT DA HELL IS DIS THING?"

*5'7 physics gooks laughing in background as boomer goes hysterical and convulses on floor*

Anyone who works within a hundred miles of finance knows the investment decisions are exponentially less important than business generation.

Commission business is eroding rapidly and the nepotism on the Street is truly shocking. Machines are picking these guys apart slowly.

It makes sense - most of the guys running things now came up when shit was easy and you could make dollars per trade, now it is pennies (if that).

that said however short term trading is more gambling than anything, so who cares if the near term money gets hit a bit.

Some short term algo's or quant traders however move in predictable ways and you can see them moving in certain stocks if you give it a long enough time. If you observe their behavior long enough you can chip them for some pretty good money - a few grand or so every time they run their strategy or tweak it.

A lot of the time it is really Algo-on-Algo battles and money waging war with other money - not related to the stocks per-se.

I'd even think that a modified Tobin Tax mechanism to cut back SOME of the algo stuff wouldn't be a bad idea.
