The reason he's so successful is because he's managed to infiltrate the show's question bank, probably through a human mole. This is a known phenomenon; it's happened a few times, but the producers keep it quiet because they don't want to upset the fan base and make them question the essential integrity of the show and therefore, ultimately, the world.

i was having the same thoughts. i mean just how notable is zelda fitzgerald anyways? i read the great gatsby and i know the first name of the author's wife but i'd NEVER pull her name out of that clue. when i think of a flapper (to the extent that i think of them, which is basically never) i think of dorothy parker.
