it's crazy what a good O-line can do for you. good RBs can put up Heisman #s and mediocre passers with legs (like ND's QB) won't get exposed.
I think Bama could put up 50 points on their defense though. Georgia was missing its starting QB.

Bump for 23-point win at UNC w/ their backup QB and the 20-point win @Sparty looking more impressive.
I am OFFICIALLY calling for a 14+ point win against very overrated USC in their next game.

Sep. 6 San Diego St. 3:30pm
Easy win
Sep. 13 Michigan 3:30pm
Lost *everyone*...they have a true freshman quarterback who wasn't even a top recruit. They will be horrible this year.
Sep. 20 at Michigan State TBA
Decently tough game. We'll win.
Sep. 27 Purdue 3:30pm
Reasonable game. We'll win easy.
Oct. 4 Stanford 2:30pm
We beat them last year when we sucked.
Oct. 11 at North Carolina TBA
Potentially tough game...they're a young team on the rise. We'll beat them, though.
Oct. 25 at Washington 8:00pm
2 words: Ty Willingham. No way we lose this game.
Nov. 1 Pittsburgh 2:30pm
Potentially tough game. We'll win.
Nov. 8 at Boston College TBA
They also lose *EVERYBODY*. We'll win in a walk.
Nov. 15 at Navy 12:00pm
New coach, better ND, no problem.
Nov. 22 Syracuse 2:30pm
They're like a AA team.
Nov. 29 at USC 8:00pm
We'll probably lose, but you never know.

You can count me among those angry at Kelly all offseason, fuming about the loses at QB, tired about a "close loss" against Georgia, tired as I watch each game with a joyless feeling.
Entering the break, I suddenly look at the evidence and ND looks like a legit team. Every win has been convincing.
Temple win: meh
Georgia loss: looks really good (with caveat that Georgia was trying out new QB and loss was at home), Georgia wins 31-3 v. Miss St, 41-0 @ Tennessee, 45-14 @ Vandy, could be 12-0 going into SEC championship v. Bama
BC win: meh
Michigan State win: looks really good after win v. Iowa 17-10 & win @ Michigan 14-10, could easily be 7-1 heading into PSU & @tOSU
Miami OH win: meh
UNC: meh
---BUT---
v. USC (5-1, only loss close @ WSU on a Friday night), v. NC State (5-1, only loss 1 TD week 1 v. SCAR), v. Wake (4-2, decent showings but not terribly strong), @ Miami (4-0), v. Navy (5-0), @ Stanford (4-2)
So ND looks good relatively speaking but this second half is a man's schedule, but lots of games at home and lots of chances to look *really* impressive in committee's eyes.

If Miami picked off Clemson, it would be in the ACC championship.
So ND's most realistic path is to be 11-1 with a decisive win over ACC Champion Miami.
They need to have beaten a conference champ. USC, Stanford, NC State, maybe Michigan State, also conceivable.
7 of ND's 12 opponents (incl. 5 of the remaining 6 games) are ranked. So there is a real opportunity for resume building if they are as good as I think.
