It's much, much more common for deathrowmos to instruct their lawyers to make every argument possible to delay or cancel the execution. TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Police say the teen accused of killing a Broken Arrow teacher, robbing an elderly couple and raping the woman encountered police before Sunday.

Sergeant Dave Walker says patrol officers and detectives knew about a recent crime spree and a group of young criminals that included 16-year-old Deonte Green, but investigators did not communicate as effectively as possible.

Green now sits behind bars at the Tulsa County Jail, accused of killing Shane Anderson in a struggle at Anderson's south Tulsa home Sunday. Before that, Green is accused of kidnapping an elderly couple, forcing them to withdraw cash from an ATM and raping the woman.

Walker says the information about Green's recent allegations helped on the day of the crimes but detectives might have taken action sooner had they known.

“We have to have that information before we have a Green kill and rape. If we could have known that, that he was that active and as soon as he escalates into armed robbery, then put clamps on him,” said Walker.

Walker says Green is accused of stealing cars, with one car still outstanding. He also says Green was recently arrested and released over a property theft.

“I am sure everyone would say if we would have known three days from now he is going to escalate to breaking into homes with guns, shooting at elderly couples, raping elderly women and killing, they would have kept him in jail for the burglary,” said Walker.

Now Walker says the police department will learn from this situation and communicate more effectively.
