"Stunning" Steve Austin. Balding southern guy. I wasn't into the Stone Cold WWF persona bc I was a WcWmo but he was insanely charismatic and resonated with a huge portion of the wrestling fan demographic. WCW completely squandered what would have been a huge asset.

Undertaker spent 1989-1990 in WcW as "Mean" Mark Callous. Similarly he basically had no schtick and was just kind of a dark dude who wore black like a goth but not supernatural or anything, which is what really made him special.

Compare this to his WWF debut in 1990

Would the WWF still exist if WcW capitalized on Steve Austin's schtick? Could Sting's Crow schtick have co-existed with the Undertaker's? If not, would the NWO vs WcW saga have been as compelling?

WcW vs NWO, luchadores and other cruiserweights once that started to fade so too did my interest in wrestling.

I didnt identify with stone cold because he was a redneck. I viewed it as a gimmick like "oh wow i drink beer and say bitch im so edgy!"

That's what I should have done and enjoyed WCW and WWF. I was never that into wrestling as a little kid and only got into it during the WCW vs NWO era. By sometime in 1998 I wasn't that crazy about it anymore.

I'm not criticizing Stone Cold. In retrospect I have a lot of respect for him. Im just explaining how I perceived him when I was like 13 years old. It didn't resonate with me.

This. I was 8-9 years old during the attitude era, but I always cheered for Rock in his feuds with Stone Cold, even when he was a corporate lackey for Vince Mcmahon. Stone Cold, while entertaining, was just a redneck to me whereas Rock was a cool well dressed millionaire I could up to and aspire towards.

titcr. I switched back and forth. Huge fan of Rock, Stone Cold, and Mick Foley back then, but also Goldberg, NWO, etc

Also if I remember right, one of them ended an hour earlier than the other, so when one ended I immediately switched to the other for an additional hour.
