Going to a movie theater does not appeal adults. Single adults don't want to be the loser watching a movie alone in theater, or if married would have to get a babysitter. They would rather stay home and watch it on the flats screen with a beer. They are also more aware of GC fraud and do not want to burn $20 bucks just to see it in the theater.
This trend is reflected in the wild popularity of very dark and R rated tv series. If BR were a multiepisode HBO or scifi channel miniseries I think it culd have been wildly successful like Battlestar Galactica |
