Coincidentally we were invited to a bbq on Sunday by neighbours a few doors down. I've said hi to them on the street but this is the first time we've socialised. He's a German guy with a Chinese wife and they have teh cutest little hapa dottrs.

anyway, holy shit. theres been a few things i realized/noticed recently because of xoxo's azn obsession

first of all, i realized how prevalent agwwg is. i always wondered why my dads wife married him. shes filipino and objectively way more attractive, nicer, and has way more money than my dad. that mystery is solved for me finally. had been wondering that for almost 10 years now.

keep in mind in portland and maine in general is 90%+ white. we have very few asians here and ive never really paid attentions to any generalizations/stereotypes of them.

we get a fair number of cruise ships that stop here in the late summer/early fall. i go for a walk around the touristy section of my city almost every day on my lunch break and there are always a ton of tourists around. this year ive noticed the asians a lot more because of xoxo. ive seen a ton of agwwg couples and almost no wgwags. i see packs of asian dudes (like 6-8 of them) wandering around together but only see girls in groups of like 2 or 3 at most. the rest are coupled up.

i also have realized that the jewish guy/asian chick pairing is pretty common. i honestly never thought about it before.

i dont normally pay much attention to all the race shit on xoxo but seeing this irl made me laugh. not because im trying to be racist or anything, but bc holy fuck, xoxo is actually right!

i do also have a funny story from YEARS ago that finally fucking makes sense to me.

when i was in my late 20s i went to boston w some friends for the weekend. we stayed at a mutual friends apartment that was attending northeastern. he had a roommate that was your typical UMC handsome guy in his early to mid 20s. anyway, this roommate and my friend told us this story about this asian girl that worshipped the ground the roommate walked on. she would come over to his apartment and sit out in the hallway (this is the common hallway outside his apartment, mind you) and do her homework until he needed her for something (whether it be fucking him, cleaning his apartment, whatever) and then he'd go out and grab her and use her for whatever task he needed her for, and then send her back out into the hallway. the chick was perfectly happy being on standby to do whatever he wanted

at the time i thought it was just a weird person being kinda pathetic, but now i wonder if it was partially because of the agwwg obsession

i only see a very small number of non white people, though. so my experiences may not be representative of what goes on in more diverse areas. but it seems like xoxo is right about at least some of it

I also see a fair number of agwag couples. I work in the city and a couple of blocks away there are some colleges that are heavily populated by overseas students and its pretty common to see agwag couples wandering around or at lunch.
