MacBook Water Damage

Date: October 18th, 2017 9:56 PM Author: Navy Up-to-no-good Dingle Berry recall a couple months ago pddj spilled water on her macbook (yes, women) and it acted up and we dried it out and it was fine. it died again today.
she went to apple store. red water indicator came up and they said there's water inside and they want $750 to repair it.
is it safe to find some non-apple place to get rid of the water? |

Place should be able to repair logic board, they use like a microscope to look for components that are fried or some shit.
Or u could get lucky and they open it up and just a simple cable was fried.
Before I knew it was cheap cable I figured that 350 was worth it to avoid having to pay out for new computer. Guy also warranties his work for like 3-6 mos, maybe longer. I’m now well over the 6 mo mark |

Apple store wanted 780 to repair mine after screen wouldn’t turn on due to water damage. Took to third party place and they replaced a cable and cleaned some of the water damage. 70 bucks later my computer runs better than before and if it breaks in the future they’ll apply the 70 toward the repair. They thought it may have been the logic board based on symptoms I reported. My research online confirmed same. Logic board was substantially more expensive. When dude opened it up and looked around he found out that just the cable was fried. Called me that night to pick up the next day.
There deal was you don’t pay if we can’t fix it. |
