Thoughts? I like that they don't use any computers and I think the unstructured, creativity-focused, hippie style education could actually be good for elementary school-- especially in a small nurturing community full of kids whose parents can afford private school. I was a 35-kids-in-the-class public-schoolmo myself.

You know Waldorf schools have the highest levels of unvaccinated kids right? I don’t associate or want my kid to associate with rich ignorant hippies.

Link / tell me more? Highest level but still a very small %, or are you saying these are substantially overlapping subcultures and, say, 25%+ of the parents will be weird anti-vaxxers?

Like rates way higher than25% unvaccinated.

In LA, before they passed recent laws, the Waldorf schools were like 75% unvaccinated. It attracts crazies.

Just google “Waldorf school and vaccination” and you’ll find tons of articles.

I strongly dislike their philosophy and setup, but if you have one in the area it may be cr in terms of kid having white UMC classmates and being socialized to their mores.

I believe in structure and discipline for kids. Their pfc's are not developed enough to freestyle their own schedules. And the philosophy derives from Rousseau and its tenets have been falsified.

Kids need some of both, but most of a school day should be structured and routinized, like 7 hours structure 2 hours free play. It allows their minds to settle down and focus. Just think about how much they freak out about the smallest things like a shitty goody bag full of junk toys can be the most amazing thing in the world for about 200 seconds, and forgetting to pick it up can be as painful as losing their most prized possession. The extremes of their emotions are too intense because their brain hasn't learned to regulate and just calm down.
