I have tons of samples from every plaintiff's firm of food demands and samples for 998s etc.
I've taken every depo imaginable and defended them all
I've done jury trials and can talk to a jury and to clients
Who wants to fund me

You're the man but I'll need a while to prepare and save and plan. I want a few more first chaired trials before I switch.
A lot of my clients don't seem to trust me because I'm young (early 30s). How do you deal with that issue?
Also, how do you get your clients to get epidurals? Even a lot of people in real pain may not want needles in their spine

My professional opinion is that it sounds like you're a pussy. I'm your age and I promise I look younger (in fact I already gave you my real info so you can just look up what I look like). Plus I've been taking cases on my own since I was in my 20s. Clients just want someone who sounds like they know what they are doing and that treat them like they are important.
You don't need first chair trial experience before you have a firm lol. I had no idea what I was doing when I first started and you already have years of PI experience. You're good to go. I'll let you first chair one of my shitty limited trials if you want. Would be fun.
As for epidurals, I never have a problem getting clients to do them. My clients have 100% trust in me. I build great relationships with them and I treat them like family. I even sent them all photos of my baby from the hospital when he was born. They all ask about him. Also, I am personal friends with all my doctors and they talk about how good I am and they treat my clients like family too because their relationship with me.

I am a pussy, and you do look younger/same age as me
My number one issue is that I'm poor and people rely on me for money that aren't me. If I wasn't married and did t have family members i supported it'd be easy. If I fail I'm completely fucked
Your yelp reviews are incredible. Makes you seem like the greatest attorney alive.

If you want my 2 cents it will never be the right time to leave. When I quit my job to go 100% solo I had just bought a new house and had a $3300 mortgage (not my house now). My wifes in house job was only about 85k at the time and she couldn't cover all our expenses. I just sucked it up and fucking took the dive.
The older you get the harder it is to leave a steady pay check. And if you end up having kids or buying a home, you will always be a wage slave.
Why don't you do contract work for some other attorneys while you build your practice. That way you have some cash coming in. I could get you contract work from me and other people I know. I wouldn't mind helping

Calishitlawguru, is it feasible to start a shitlaw practice while at my existing civil firm? We have relatively diverse practice area including a little bit of PI.
Firm strongly encourages us to try to build our own books even if cases are shit early on they like to see the hustle. My current boss made partner as a 5th year after only a couple years at the firm because he was highly motivated and started bringing in work even though initial cases were shit.
I’ve always wanted to do plaintiffs side and would like to start developing my book and practice area there but no clue how to get the work. Dream may be to go solo at some point but seems like building book while at firm may not be a bad start. I may shoot u an email tmw.

I would run it through the firm so I think I’d get more leeway since they’d be getting a significant cut. At a certain point I could make the jump to solo once the book was there.
I can deal with the lack of deductions early on while I learn the ropes of PI practice and build my book,
How did u start getting the clients?

It's a shame to see a real go-getter like calishitlawguru waste his time on cowardly tire-kicker wannabee mentally ill posers like chandler.
If he had it in him to do it, he woulda done it by now.
Keep the training wheels on, kid.
