From the beginning, Blue Smoke has insisted that she's somehow exempt from all the problems that plague opiate addicts. I don't think she ever even admitted to physical addiction even though it's impossible she hasn't progressed to physical dependency if her habit is truly like she describes.
There's some study or maybe even just an editorial that has been linked here a few times. It describes the phenomenon of supposedly smart people being able to entertain crazy ideologies because they're smart enough to construct a convoluted but internally viable belief systems and otherwise subvert whatever ideas they naturally received from family, in school, and other socialization. It's usually discussed in the context of someone asking how intelligent people can entertain goofy religious practices or wing nut political views. I think Blue Smoke is a good example of someone running a long con on her own mind wherein she earnestly believes that she suffers no serious detriment from opiate abuse. |

@OP: Don't relapse. Use the time you would spend high making yourself stronger. Learn skills that interest you. Learn chess, read great books. Find a job that you like and find challenging. And start working out 5 days a week. At least 3 of those have to be lifting. The others can be running or lifting, depending on the program you go with. But get yourself physically disciplined. Fill your time with stimulation. Make a list of shit you wanna accomplish and then start planning how to do it. |
