never said that, but most people should be using far less weight; I've lifted over 10 years and I rarely go above 40 for curls, I can use 90s but it fucks up my elbow and shoulder

edit: my biceps get a lot of work from weighted chins and rows so could argue my biceps get heavy work on that

It's a showoff muscle that guys focus on when they start lifting as teenagers because they think pecs+biceps 24/7 will create the ideal physique. Or they're skinny dudes or fats who get into weights later but have a similarly poor understanding of what makes a good looking physique. They may learn better over time, but your preferred workouts and movements are often sort of 'locked in' from the days when you were a novice. So everybody does a little too much chest work.

Also up until about 10 years ago, all listing broscience was derived from bodybuilding books or athletic training for contact sports. In the form, chest work is crazily overemphasized so you can mimic bodybuilding physiques, and the latter just requires a ton of heavy push work which is going to overdevelop your chest if you have good genes for it and stay consistent with bench or chest pressing of years.
