I'm going to bail in six months unless they give me a big raise (unlikely) or put me on more substantive projects (more likely). I'm hesitant to leave because the place is very chill in terms of hours and people but I will definitely jump if I feel extremely expendable
I could probably get at least a 25% raise instantly by switching jobs, but I'd have to do 25% more work (and do the fucking interview study grind again) so it isn't worth it to me unless I think it's necessary.
Mentorship doesn't matter, skills do. More substantive projects = broader body of knowledge/experience

pretty much cr
I got contacted by a google recruiter out of the blue for a fairly specific position and politely told her "maybe after I gain some experience in a year" because LOL at me passing those interviews without a shitton of prep.
I will say coding is very underrated as a job which gives you a fair amount of geographical flexibility if you're willing to forego shooting for the 300k unicorn moon and the requisite SF COL tax. Even if you're gunning for top jobs Google and MS have lots of regional offices (usually easier to crack in to for slightly more experienced positions)

yes
i have a wasd code at work and a unicomp at home
i prefer typing on the unicomp but reaching the escape key is a pain in the ass. still 180
to be honest im ok with most keyboards though so long as they aren't chiclets or SUPER shitty. I don't type that much, but using a chiclet keyboard all day still sucks ass
