If you reduce per capital spending to Switzerland level you reduce that amount by 1.5 trillion. That is money being taken from the economy and a lowering of GDP of almost 10 percent.

It would also very likely bankrupt a large percentage of companies currently in operation. The powers that be chose not to let the system be destroyed 10 years ago and everything they've done since is to keep that system afloat by issuing as much debt as it takes. Healthcare spending will never go down in our lifetimes without a crash that would be absolutely devastating. |
