social obligations like marriage and fathers taking care of their kids are basically made up. few animals do this. it's arguably unnatural.
westerners created these rules to keep the peace and because they had some foresight about how to build stable societies. if not for social shaming, family pressure, etc. many white men would be just as negligent as their black brothers. |

let's say you have some generally beneficial trait like IQ.
2 parents with an IQ of x and y will have some expected average IQ if they reproduce, but not all their kids will come out the same. surely you have slightly smarter or dumber siblings. every time the parents breed, the actual outcome for each kid will be random samples drawn from a distribution with some mean and standard deviation.
by having lots of kids, the hope is to get a few lucky draws in the right tail of the distribution, and let all the ones in the left tail or average area fuck off.
after doing this, if the trait improves genetic fitness, more right tail doods should live, go on to pass their genes, and the population's distribution of the trait gradually improves.
so why doesn't this work? I could see why it's broken in the US because the govt takes care of you and it's hard to be so retarded that you can't fuck. but in Africa you have babies with low genetic fitness dying all the time. |
