Can someone refute this? I’m sure ther are some founding families, landholders and I have 1 friend from there. The masses have no identity or wholesome or purposeful schtick at all. They live in a morass of tattoos cheap plastic and shitty houses. What is in their economy? Scottsdale is a joke. How do any of these people have money? Ok so they trek or hike as a hobby. That’s just a slow, low budget version of skiing. This state is garbage. Roll back the Gadsden purchase! Roll it back!

A good 30 percent of the homes in Phoenix metro are owned by retirees who live there from October to April and get the fuck out in the summer. That is how it is an industry that stands out from the rest of the economy. It is unusually disconnected from schools and such. Basically, people want to live there in the nice weather months but give fuckall about growing things, development of modern economies or the future in any way.

this is most of the country. And some other countries (see England). And most of our cultural elites are degenerates too.

but anyways Arizona doesn't seem notably worse on this score than, say, Florida.

Florida has a lot of Arizona-style trash along the I-4 corridor and all the way down the East coast, like south of ponte vedra until Palm Beach, and northern Florida is as Deep South as Bama or Georgia. Also great beaches on 30A.

Much more heritage from the Pueblo peoples and until recently there was basically no border w Juarez. I would run around Juarez markets as a 3 year old and my parents had their first date there

The low Pueblo adobe architecture runs from West Texas north to Sante Fe but I didn’t really notice it that much in PHX

Are you looking for striver opera culture? If so, only Phoenix has a semblance of that. Tucson on the other hand has a solid hipster community that draws its spiritual ethos from the desert and the avant- garde Mexican culture of the early 1900s. If you want to spend all morning reading some douchey Emile Durkheim book at a cafe while sipping a cold brew sweetened with agave nectar, then you can find it in Tucson. If you want to leave the cafe and watch the monsoon roll in against the mountains from the back porch of the 1930s bungalow you only pay $800 a month for, then take a deep breath of wet creosote and come to Tucson. If you want to go to a party to drink PBRs with your bros and fuck a 21 year old Latina hipster with a cactus tattooed on her arm, then hop on your fixie and join me in the dirty t.

correct.

texas, however, is a close second. not necessarily some some of the spots with a bit of density, culture, and history. but the majority of the smaller cities and exurbs are soulless shitholes full of utterly retarded and infuriatingly provincial big box store shoppers who epitomize the worst of this country.
