Alpha relationship bros, I need help with a potential friendzone sit

I’m so turned around in this situation emotionally and mentally that I can’t tell if I’m friendzoned or not. I’ll try to be brief without leaving anything important out. I’m the GM of a very popular bar. I’m surrounded by good looking women all day and could fuck many of the single ones if I put in the effort. I flirt with almost all of them in a semi-serious manner, but have a well known policy that I don’t fuck or date the help. I’ve learned from experience that it’s a bad idea and I don’t want to fuck up this job. There’s a hot blonde there who is the exception. She’s 25 and an all around amazing person. I flirt with her like everyone else but she has given me strong but always playful indications of interest. Examples: - Comments on how good my ass looks (including snapping pictures of it when she’s in there and sending them to me with captions), how nice my smile is, how handsome I am when I don’t wear a hat, etc - Texted me one day that she’s a mess because she is going to break up with her boyfriend and when I said “hey sorry to hear that” she replied “you’re much better anyways” - Routinely texts me that she loves me, although admittedly not in earnest - Invites me out for drinks with the group, invited me to an NFL game, just tries to include me in stuff she does albeit with the group, said when she dumps her boyfriend I’m going to the party etc - Tries to embarrass me by dancing with me when I’m working and she’s off the clock hanging out - Sent me a text out of the blue about how much she appreciates me and all I do for herand that I’m the best manager she has ever seen, yada yada yada Unfortunately, our interactions have always been a bit strained because a) she still has a boyfriend, and b) I’m wary of crossing that line with her off the clock. There’s just something unspoken when we talk and hang out that is weird, like we are both holding back. Mind you I’ve had the same shit happen with other girls, like do I go in for a big chest to chest hug or just say Hey what’s up and play it cool. Again, I try not to get involved with these girls. Two Sundays ago, a bunch of us were hanging out after work and I get a sext from some chick whose number I got at work the night before. She sends me a naked picture and all the dudes I’m with are cracking up and saying HOLY SHIT. I didn’t show her at first because it seemed weird to show her some random tits and pussy. Eventually I did after she begged me but I could tell she was pissed that I showed pretty much everyone else. The next day, she was texting me about work related shit and out of the blue is like “so did you get laid?!” I ignored it and she said “no secrets!” and “I’m your wingwoman because I told you not to wear your hat” (which I saw as a huge red flag, more on this later). I continued to ignore the question and she moved on. Pretty straightforward so far, she seems very interested, but here’s where it gets confusing. A few days ago, she annoyed the fuck out of me at work. What she did is not important but I made it clear I was pissed and basically froze her out the rest of the night. She in turn got pissed at me because she thought I was being unfair and left for the night on the verge of tears. She’s a super-composed person so this was a big deal. Before leaving she talked to one of my assistant managers about how she’s upset that I’m mad at her and it’s bullshit etc. He told me to “give her some love” since she was clearly taking it so hard. So I text her basically “we will talk tomorrow, you should have stayed and have a drink, feel better, love you”. Next day we make up with a series of long-ass heartfelt texts. Again she tells me to go out and have fun and get laid and have a drink for her, but in the midst of these she calls me friend like three times. Shit like “can we just get back to being friends and forget about this?” and “youre a legit friend of mine”. I know how the female mind works so I immediately interpreted this as passive aggressive game playing, but just went along with it and didn’t act butthurt because she said it. I was just like “yeah ok we need to put this behind us” or whatever.
So what’s my next move? Freeze her out a bit and drive her crazy with lack of attention while remaining cordial? Is this just typical hot girl shit where this is her way of getting back at me? Should I just ignore her until she breaks up with her bf and then just make an unambiguous move on her? Am I a friendzoned chump?

Maybe even develop a serious-looking relationship. Also be less interested in her dating life. Do not give support. This will both pull the jealousy strings as well as breakdown the friendship behavior. Stop saying I love you. She should make the first move if you go down this path. I did this by freezing out convos w a chick that shared BF issues with me, bringing a few different girls around as respectable dates. (3) change something about you, like haircut or fitness or something slight about your since of style. The change will help her reframe her mental impression of you. I did this by shifting from a post-college frat style to something more mature. Shorter hair. Some girls who I didn’t have a full spark with before that time all of sudden wanted it. |
