Its just a fucking website, I shouldn't need to download you're "app" so you can track my location and listen in on my conversations. And nobody even talks about it - like it is perfectly understandable that every time you visit christmastreeshops.com or some shit you need to click through a pop-up for "push notification" and "this experience is much better in are app".
And God forbid you actually download it by mistake - then every time you click a link, it opens the fucking app.

The most infuriating part of this is not the frustration itself - you can easily live without the app. The infuriating thing is that smartphones and apps could be mind-blowing tools but instead they are thoroughly appropriated for nagging capitalist bullshit. |
