I've only read BotNS and 5th Head of Cerberus but both were 180.

I am 100% on board with this. I'm reading BOTNS right now, and plan to do 5th Head and Peace right after (I have not read these before). If you have one you'd like to do yourself I'd be happy to add it to the lineup.

Noted, I'll be sure to check out those from now on (I already check the positive Goodreads/Amazon reviews for help figuring out wtf I just read).

Even though I haven't read Peace I do know about the hilarious split between "this is an okay memoir I guess" reviews and the "this is a horror story" reviews.

When does school wrap for you? I can try to read on a schedule if I've got a buddy to chat with.

Sorry about this. Got distracted by various things over the holidays, and didn't want to bump until I actually wrapped New Sun, which I finally just did. This time around, I want to read Urth if the New Sun as well which I'm told is an epilogue of sorts. It's ordered but I need it to arrive.

Man, these books have a lot going on, but I'll start by asking about something from the first book: What the Hell happened at The Wall?

it's no problem, I've been hella busy with law review stuff since coming back to school and the holidays were way more time crunched for me than I expected.

So the Wall is mostly a plot device— I'm not sure we know what happens there beyond the hints which mostly come later, but as an invention I think it's remarkable. It's a bureaucracy so old and ancient that its employees are also its inhabitants, evolved into numerous forms just to serve at this particular task, human, animal, alien and hybrids of all. It's one of the most remarkable visual images in the book for me.
