I made over $100k net my first year as a solo and have steadily made more each year.
Making money as a solo has almost nothing to do with being a good lawyer. I'm not a good lawyer. I hate the law.
It's all about being entrepreneurial and having good business sense. Most solos -- dumb, not business minded, and awkward -- are solo by necessity because they couldn't get hired or couldn't hack it in a firm. They never wanted to run a business but are now forced to do so. Those who go solo because they want to run a business do well. |
