Same writers. I know some of them. It's not very diverse. Think about how all the sitcoms on network are the same. Same writers going from show to show. Unique voices are too risky or haven't been accepted by the tribe.

this trend makes it difficult to watch TV shows which are set in the past, when this type of dialogue simply would not have occurred. "stranger things" suffers badly from this effect.
