Hypo: US enters WW2 with 2018 technology (sans nukes). How long to win war?

The Nazi government responds by immediately going into hiding. Following a ground invasion, the U.S. Army occupy the major cities and towns, easily eliminating any Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS units who attempt resistance.
The occupation stalls at that point. Because of a desire to avoid U.S. military casualties and rules of engagement to avoid civilian casualties, Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS units that escaped destruction escape to the countryside. They rule large swaths of the country as warlords.
In order to rebuild Germany, the United States installs a new government--the Democratic Republic of Germany--a new, nominally independent government, that is to rule Germany. The U.S. military attempts to enlist native Germans in their campaign against the remaining Nazis, but these units are poorly trained and equipped, and unless closely supervised they terrorize the population as much as the outlaw Nazis. Some even launch "yellow on blue" suicide attacks on the U.S. Military personnel that are training and supervising them.
After 15 months, Hitler is captured. He had escaped early in the chaos and had hidden in a small bunker near Schloss Linderhof. The U.S. military discovered that he was aided by numerous figures in the new Democratic Republic of Germany, including close political allies of the new Prime Minister, Hans Fritzsche. To avoid embarrassing the fledgling DRG government, the military covers up this fact.
Hitler is returned to Berlin and tried by the fledgling German legal system. International observers are dismayed by its similarities to the Volksgerichtshof. The judges engage in lengthy shouting matches with the defendant. Hitler is subsequently convicted and hanged.
8 years after the war has begun. Nazi warlords still control many of the rural areas of Germany and corruption in the DRG is endemic. |

Our tanks and other armor are far superior to WWII tech, but we don’t have very many tanks compared to a WWII army. Our ground forces are also vastly outnumbered by the German WWII Wehrmacht. Modern air power is great but don’t forget that we were carpet bombing entire German cities in WWII and they held out for years. And don’t forget how uselesss rolling thunder was in Vietnam. So if the hypo is that the US army as it exists today, active duty plus the guard and reserve, gets on a boat and heads over, then we’re nit in good shape.
