I've never found them comfortable to play and they have basically no versatility. I don't really find the fret buzz that is part of their signature sound to be appealing either. Sure it's got an aggressive, distinct tone that cuts through the rest of the band, but I feel like it is no where near as good an instrument as similarly priced instruments from fender, warwick, or ibanez.
