1) The goal of my brokerage account is to generate growth and fund medium-term activities. My long-term needs are being accounted for by my Roths and 401K. Thus, the goal of my brokerage account is not to have more money 20-30 years from now, but to have more money over the next 2-8 years.

2) Can you read? Where did I imply I invest in the stock market solely for my “ low risk tolerance”? I also have CDs, savings accounts, and bond funds for those purposes.

3) And yet again, you mischaracterize someone who doesn’t want to place another bet as someone who believes they know which way the next bet will go. If I choose to cash out now, it’s because I’m comfortable with my gains and don’t wish to bet again, not because I think the next bet will fail. Someone who is timing the market is exiting because they think the n day bet will fail, and that they can re/enter easily at a better moment. I’m not that cocky or foolhardy.
