at fast casual places, usually you place your order and pay at the cashier then go sit down with either a buzzer or a little flag thing with a number. your food is then brought to you and your table bussed when you are done. as earl mentioned, after the initial interaction with your quasi-waiter, this person may offer additional limited services like bringing you some ranch dressing or other (free) condiment. |
