I don't think there's going to be any major advances in tech specifically worth waiting for. The top-end self driving stuff might trickle down from the upscale models.
Over the next few years, there might be a lot more choices as far as pure electric cars if that's something you're in to.

Yes, you should wait a few years unless you want something totally different (much faster car or whatever) because getting rid of a perfectly good car for no reason is just silly.
