I think the gulf between the coasts and interior America is far more vast than we can imagine.

goyim go buckwild at the sight of a paycheck. many of these same people likely have giant pickup trucks, 4 pets, 8 rifles, 5 game consoles, etc. goys spend on stupid shit and then complain about money.

Even in DC I've always been amazed by the people at work who were eager to eat out because it was "payday" and their accounts had cash again.

They'd get REALLY excited in the two months of the year where they got three paychecks instead of two.

The most preftigious pay period is bimonthly: on the first or last day of the month and on the 15th day.

You'll be surprised how many biglawyers (associates and partners) wait for payday to make an expenditure. Some people simply are unable to save.

My biglaw firm normally had two pay periods a month, but in December they had one big one on the 15th (or first business day after the 15th) and none on the 31st. I'm not sure what the intent of this was, maybe an accounting thing, but in practice several biglawyers used this money to free up space on their credit cards to buy shit for Christmas. Complete insanity.

Most of these people are happy and live life to fullest, consuming everything they can.

Many xo misers will die of a heart attack from stress at 48 with unused 500k in the bank.

There's some truth to this, but the way these statistics are gathered is egregious flame.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/18/few-americans-have-enough-savings-to-cover-a-1000-emergency.html

(39% say they would pay out of savings, 19% with a credit card, 13% by reducing spending on other things, 12% with a family/friend loan, 5% with a personal loan).

Paying "with a credit card" is something you might do even if you have plenty of savings-- cop that 0% interest and rewards, otherwise you're basically throwing money away. Similarly, even if you're saving plenty, you might got back on spending on other things rather than dip into your savings. So surveys like this really only show that at least 17% are hahabrokefucked, 39% are fine-ish, and it's hard to tell for the rest. It's always like this, there will be some headline like "only 15% of Americans have $1,000 saved" but when you actually check the survey it asks specifically about savings accounts (who keeps money in a savings account any more??)

Cr. Similarly, articles on the "retirement crisis" have ramped up to garner boomer clicks the last few years but that story has been around for decades. And I don't see the streets filled with homeless seniors, which is about what they usually predict.
