The West Virginia US Attorney discovers HSBC laundered $800 million for drug cartels and terrorists deliberately violating laws and sanctions. Tells his bosses he's gonna indict the bank. Obama's deputy AG calls him to Washington and says "don't do that." Instead they and Loretta Lynch (US Attorney in NY at the time) do a deferred prosecution agreement where HSBC admits everything, pays a fine equal to 5 weeks' profits, and no one goes to jail.
