By my late 20's my life had settled into a routine: go to the same job, hang out with the same friends at the same bars, poast on the same message board, etc. Rinse and repeat. It got dull.

My 30's have broken up this monotony with exciting new developments like homeownership, babby-having, shopping for life insurance, and, of course, copping the best selling and highest rated compact SUV, the 2018 Honda CR-V with best-in-class 75.8 square feet of cargo space, capable of holding six more grocery bags than the Mazda CX-5.

I’ve had a lot of financial responsibilities paying off six figure student loans and medical debt, plus supporting my unemployed ex, my mom, and now my son. I’ve always worked 2-3 jobs at a time and rarely take vacations or hang out with friends. My health and marriage aren’t great. It’s pretty miserable, to be honest. My only pleasures are my beautiful son and eating dessert. I enjoy my work, too, so that’s at least an improvement over my early/mid 30s

Romance wise now married to CGWBTs, and a part of me will always enjoy 28-31 where I just ran though women with no concern -- from nordic 8s to shrew 5s.

How 'bout you, Ironside? You think you'll have a midlife crisis, and if so, what form will it take?

not really. i'm super chill and content irl; i'm able to reconcile tradeoffs in my own head, which means that i can understand that giving up B is allowing me to have A.

what i am afraid of is death, always have been. i love life very much and am always scared that i'm getting closer to the end.

I feel the same way about death. I've always loved life - no matter how unpleasant it may be at times - and fear death immensely.

I've averaged one babby dude per year in my 30's. I am in my mid-30s

I think they are great. I am over the stage where I find them maddening. We are past the age of tantrums, and at the stage where I can start to introduce my interests to them and they show a genuine interest. Right now they are obsessed with guns and Star Wars and old cartoons.

30s are a mixed bag because you start to actually age, but compared to future decades a 30s body looks incredible. I am learning to be happy with what I have, I have much, much more financial stability now and I am generally enjoying the 30s. I've trimmed the "fat" as it were and focus on more essential life stuff. Got partying out of my system. I can buy the $2,000 Dolce & Gabanna jacket if I want to. I couldn't do that in my 20s. It feels good.

30-33 were great, the best years of my life. No responsibilities. Went on long hikes with the dog. Lazy weekends. Then I got knocked up. Mid-late 30s is worse than early-30s but still infinitely better than my 20s. I’m actually excited for my 40s when I will have older children.

front end of the decade has been 180 so far, i want for nothing and am very fortunate

awesome wife and dog, student loan faggotry will be over and done in a matter of weeks, sweet house, pretty easy job that pays very well, better musculature than ever thanks to a chronic injury fading and being less and less of a drag on my ability to lift, healthiest sleeping habits since i was a child

20s were mostly awesome (outside of one year of law school), 30s have been really great, have had a lot of fun. Every year has been really awesome. Really not looking forward to 40s, mostly because it will be hard to justify doing the shit that I love doing now (getting drunk at bars, camping at music festivals full of college kids, backpacking type cheap travel, etc) without looking like some peter pan type.

Early 30s: Foolishly had some hope.

Late 30s: No hope.

I miss how resilient my body was in my 20's, and I miss the lack of responsbility, but it's hard to complain about my 30's. Still in great shape, make way better money, have house in a great area and first baby is on the way. Everything in life is a tradeoff, and I think I would have gotten board if my 20's life continued into my 30's.
