it is, but they also did objective measurements and shit. but that study really flies in the face of everything I know about the placebo effect (and is 10 years old) so it's probably flame.

"improvements" from placebo treatment are literally mostly just due to the fact that people presenting with illness tend to get better over time or at least regress to the mean. there are a few narrow domains where subjective well-being can actually impact health, but most illnesses aren't like that.
