teachers wouldn't have rifles, they'd have pistols, concealed or open carry. that doesn't matter. some should probably have or be able to carry concealed, though. that's the true deterrent. you want to kill students in school? you will likely die before you're done

not only does letting teachers be armed protect kids without adding the cost of armed security, it gets rid of the problem you point out. if only one armed guard is in a school, he's likely to be the first one taken out. of course, cruz didn't do that and it worked out for him, but logically, that's the first guy a school shooter would take out.

plus, arming teachers doesn't infringe on anyone's rights. that's one of its most important aspects.
