cynical: not much going on, probably tough to shoehorn urself into social circles ur age b/c they form on campus and there aren't many arenas to form them elsewhere (which also draws from app activity), can't leave a 1.5 mile radius without being in the hood.
less cynical: downtown is a college town, if you don't need THE CULTURE of a big city it's an ok place to be and you'll be around 20s-mos, and a college town is better than the oh the culture big city in a lot of ways. safe if you stay downtown and you won't have a reason to venture anyways. decent food. probably some deranged app sluts looking for daddy. |

if you're working at yale at that age you're probably working with grads who know other people at the school, make friends through them and you're probably fine depending on how chill or ghey they are. |

New Haven tinder is 180, both for casual sex with the high number of high-IQ and open women, and for finding a grad student as a future wife. Pedestrian nature of a city with a major university component makes meeting people easy.
Lots of smart interesting people and enough of a bar/restaurant scene once you're a little older. You could realistically survive with no car. Train ride to MFH is only 2 hours. Drive to Laguardia with no traffic is only 80 minutes, and JFK 90 minutes. You will be more than fine there for 3 years.
Nigs and spics are a problem, but stay in the right spots and you will never even see them.
I highly recommend.
