I bought a Fender Classic 70s Stratocaster (Made in Mexico) in like 2002, played the hell out of it until I got my Les Paul. This one,. https://shop.fender.com/en-US/electric-guitars/stratocaster/classic-series-70s-stratocaster/product-013700.html
On the forums, this model is much loved but notorious for having weak and tinny sounding pickups, which is very evident when you play it next to my Les Paul humbuckers. That said, I'm about ready to do some upgrades. I want more advice on this.
After tons of internet research, I've decided on getting a set of Lindy Fralin pickups https://www.fralinpickups.com/product/vintage-hot/ These are highly rated online, and by some boomer guitar guy I know.
What else? I might want a nut replacement (broke it a few years ago and the replacement job was sort of shitty), but should I get shit like new pots (not even sure how this affects the sound, guitar nerds online like upgrading these though).
Help me xoxo

Aside from the pickups, Mexi starts are great. I might upgrade the tuners to Schaller locking tuners. Could upgrade the wiring harness but almost no chance you notice a difference. If you have tuning stability issues, loook into the nut and bridge. If not, don’t.
If you’re feeling kooky, could always add a sick KAOSS pad to the guitar or add a piezo.
Also, great choice with the fralins. I have some lollars but fralins are great too
