That's not true.
The problem is a lot of probiotics are dead by the time you buy them. They should be refrigerated. Usually you can buy refrigerated probiotics from the pharmacy at walgreens. VSL makes a prescription and non prescription version. They carry both. But you don't need either of them really you just need to eat yogurt/fermented foods/kefir. And by the way, kefir is one of the only things Russia has ever given the world of any value.
Edit: The best way to consume probiotics is 15-30 minutes after a meal when acid levels get reduced so as not to destroy it.
