Kerala is developed not because of the Christians but because of foreign remittances of its expats from the Arab Gulf countries. The Northeast is also a mess though that isn't as much a fault of Northeasterners as it is of Bangladeshi immigrants. Goa has good tourist infrastructure so people might think it is developed. But in terms of other industries there isn't much there. Also Goa wasn't ruled by the Brits but by the Portuguese. An important point for the anglo-saxon supremacists among us. in turn, that meant that caste markers centered around behavior and class more than pure descent. so if you were a street-shitting peasant, you were "burakumin," but if you behaved better, you weren't seen that way. |
