Kerela has been run by the communists for years now. So, for those of you railing about socialism or whatever, I don't think Kerela is what you want to hold up as an example. Kerala is developed not because of the Christians but because of foreign remittances of its expats from the Arab Gulf countries. The Northeast is also a mess though that isn't as much a fault of Northeasterners as it is of Bangladeshi immigrants. Goa has good tourist infrastructure so people might think it is developed. But in terms of other industries there isn't much there. Also Goa wasn't ruled by the Brits but by the Portuguese. An important point for the anglo-saxon supremacists among us.
