Will be permanently HDMI'ed to TV that I use as a monitor, so doesn't matter.

I just ordered a thinkpad but cancelled it 5 mins later bc I actually really want the one you suggested. I like things that are parsimonious like it.
But it says the power supply is out of stock :(
Guess I'll just have to wait a bit to order it

refurb dells make great tv pc's. little 3d power but dirt cheap regular computing. worst case scenario you may need to buy a display port or dvi -> hdmi cable, depending on ur tv or pc you buy.

for what ur doing just pick a good price point but if $$$ isnt a problem then "splurge" and get the $200-$250 ones. i've gotten two and they work pretty well. adding on an SSD would be the best upgrade if you know how to do that
