There was a pretty big accident 50 feet in front of me while my wife and I were walking down to street to eat dinner. People fucked up all over and cars spinning out of control on the sidewalk too.

Bunch of onlookers were commenting about it but I didn't see the beginning. I ask them "which car was at fault?" Unfortunately the one that's more fucked up. "So the other car did nothing wrong?"

Within 30 seconds of the not at fault driver getting out of the car, in tears, I ask if she's alright, say "don't answer too loudly - I have someone you should talk to."

I got to her before the police and firemen. The cop told her to call her insurance company because she was not at fault and the insurance company will take care of it. I tell her to ignore the cop and not call the insurance company under any circumstance till she talks to her new lawyer. Cop was not happy, but who gives a fuck?

While talking to her another onlooker listening in says she also recently got into an accident and wanted to know who to call. lol.

A lot of clients don't feel pain immediately after an impact, so they say they are fine (which can really harm a case because these statements are recorded). Then the next day they feel pain. In disputed accidents you might also inadvertently give a factually incorrect version of the story. For example, the girl Earl referred me was not a native English speaker and would have had trouble communicating facts of loss.

Even if I fuck up giving facts to the insurance, my statement is inadmissible and I can always blame it on not remembering the right info from my client. You really insulate yourself from impeachment like this.
