life blows for me right now. i am unemployed and cannot for the life of me get a job, let alone even an interview, as a former attorney in his late 30s. and i'm about out of $$ with 4 months left on my apt lease.
had 3 days last week where i didn't drink booze, ate low carb, and started taking a few long walks to get some needed exercise and fresh air.
but then a friend invited me out late saturday while i was bored out of my mind and i proceeded to go on a 7-day bender, trying to numb my feelings of self-hate. so i once again find myself trying to taper off my withdrawal symptoms with phenibut and gabapentin and restarting the process of trying to get into a good groove.
i'm making some changes to my resume that i hope will help.
how's everything with you? things still going well with the gf?

Not much of a downside risk to failure. Maybe do some overseas opportunity, if only to backpack around? Go back for a PhD or some shit?
Things are good for me. Got a new job with a lot more responsibility and moderate pay bump but it introduced a lot of stress into my life. I find myself distracted a lot when I'm talking to someone IRL. Constantly thinking of things I'm forgetting to do. Zombie like feeling that I hate. Stuff is good with my GF. Great sex and she's very sweet. I find myself with a wandering eye though now that it's getting warmer. So many ungh chicks walking around. New pussy is just ungh. My GF would legit do a 3some so maybe I'll actually just take her up on that to see |

glad things are going well with you. i knew you were considering a job with more responsibility; didn't know if you took it or not. hopefully the stress of it will slow down as you get acclimated. glad you are still with the gf; having a wandering eye is natural for a man and, yes, the warmer weather makes it pretty much unstoppable with the (lack of) clothes women wear. it would be interesting to see how she actually reacts if you ask her to participate in a 3-some. even if she goes through with it, usually it ends up causing jealousy and resentment, i believe. then again, if you feel you might want to go back single this summer, you've got nothing to lose... |

Date: April 25th, 2018 7:32 PM Author: Sepia Menage Private Investor my legal background is pretty lousy. i've done some shitlaw in a 15 person firm and some prosecution. also did some alj-type work in a niche field with low pay. also spent 4 years with a ts/sci in dc in a non-law job.
i have no interest in going back into law, though. i despise it. well, i'd do paralegal or legal assistant where i can have normal hours and less stress. problem is, no one will even give me an interview, i guess because i'm a late 30s lawyer who doesn't want to be a lawyer, and almost no one in non-law jobs understands that. they all say, "i thought of going to law school," why don't you want to be a lawyer? because they think it's prestigious and all jobs pay at least 150k. i never made more than 60k as a lawyer. |
