Dumb friend who scored 900 on SAT - became a nurse and makes 100K working for a university in a nice, secondary city with low COL. Low stress job, low COL area, probably saved up a decent amount of cash by now.
Smart friend - OBGYN resident (still in residency), heavily in debt from med school and works crazy, stressful hours (plus will work crazy, stressful hours after residency).
Other class year's valedictorian - Stanford grad in EECS, now makes bank at google
Retarded kid who got left back a year - makes millions owning a construction company after he studied construction management
In summary - schooling is mainly flame unless you do it to get into programming and make decent cash starting at 22 so you can become millionaire by 30. If you can't do that, just be a nurse so you can live a chill, low stress life making decent money in flyover. |
