One wants to categorically disparage his art either on terms of that for which he'd abandone it in order to make a living (to put it lightly), or due to the fact that he had left behind a lot of paintings unfinished, or completed in a hurry for a quick sale. His style is unique, though not so different from Europeans of a century ago. I'll give the man credit for his artistic talent, and say that it's too bad for him (and the rest of the world) that he hadn't found enough success with it to stick with it instead of having to get a regular job.
