Public transportation isn't bad (the lines make sense, but some have older cars)
Reduced prestige whoring in Chicago (school is important but ppl are willing to look at your social skills over school -- chill, fratty the OSU bro will do well here)
There are enough theaters, events, and activities to always do something on the weekend, if that's your thing. Film festivals, neighborhood festivals, theaters, etc. |

Worse job market than NYC but with high hours expectations -- Kinda. I feel like I can cop an NYC job much easier than here in Chicago. Hours when I was in biglaw were comparable to NYC, just different hours. I started at like 8 am, NY started at like 10 am.
Massive crime. -- yea, kinda. there are pockets of high crime areas, and sure you avoid the redline.
Not near anything else. -- yea, that sucks. At least, you have Ohare so you can travel directly to a lot of destinations. Wife and I just did a direct flight to Poland and I take it to direct to Europe for business.
Good restaurants. -- perhaps the best part of this city.
