These people work 8-9 hours a day, getting coffees, lunches, talking on the phone, mass e-mailing, cold-calling - just throwing anything at the wall to see what sticks. Here's the thing: something always does. People get placed and they earn millions. I'm talking about executive search - not the bottom-feeding contingency recruiters who try to place associates in lateral jobs downstream the Vault rankings. Consultants who place C-suite executives and Board members at large public and private companies add more value than do many Biglawyers - and get compensated just as much.
