Time to step up my game. So basically I've outgrown my setup. I'm at 320 cases now, and that is after I've given Kenny and Chandler over 100 cases in the last few months. I'm getting 30-40 cases a month and am settling half that many per month (15-20 maybe).
As many of you know, my friend has a large penthouse office in a large building where he runs his firm. I currently pay him $150/month to have my name on the door and have unlimited use of the conference room. But I don't have an actual office there. Instead I work from my house a few miles away. Well, I have three staff working at my house (2 in the office with me and one in my dining room). I'm getting ready to hire a full time litigation paralegal and I'm out of room.
So I'm finally pulling the trigger and getting office space. I'm paying $1.90sq/ft for a 1,000sq/ft office in a nice building a mile from my house. It has a reception area and receptionist bay and three large offices. The plan is to put three paralegals in one office, my lit paralegal in the reception bay, one office for me, and a conference room. Once I grow more, I'll probably get rid of the conference room and put three more paralegals in there. This means I can have 7 staff in this suite. I could probably handle 600-700 cases with that many staff.
Additionally, I'm flush with cash and I'm going to probably start an aggressive advertising campaign (thinking billboards and radio adds - google adwords is shit) and also start doing networking in Ventura county (which is a pretty untapped but close market). My goal is to double my caseload in 24 months to 600 cases and to have 1,000 cases in the next 48 months. Given my growth that seems really attainable.
With exposure to 2-3x as many cases, I can probably get at least one mid-seven to eight figure case every year or two. If I keep this going for 5 years I should be very comfortable financially. Also, getting office space and hiring more people will allow me to work less. Hopefully by 5 years out the practice will not be dependent on me and I can get someone to run it while I am a passive partner.
Also, I am going to put posters of these three images in my waiting area. Please rate them:

You’re such a fucking asshole. I never said they don’t like each other. My son’s first word was “dog” and he wants the dog to play with him all the time. I have tons of cute pics and videos of my pup and son but that’s not really indicative of anything.
My dog is a low energy couch potato who prefers cuddling and peace and quiet. A baby destroyed his entire world esp because he was incredibly bonded with me. I can’t devote that same attention to him anymore and he hasn’t been the same since. That’s why I think it’s better to get a dog after you have kids so there isn’t the same rough transition for the dog. and a toddler, especially, is a tornado running through the house wanting to horse around and yelling for the dog to play with him. Even if my dog wasn’t injured he doesn’t really play with anyone. They just have different personalities.
I’ve met CSLG’s son and he is a chiller and mellower baby than my son ever was, but god help you if you think your aspie genetics will turn out any normal children.

you previously said: "A 2 year old boy derives more pleasure from cement mixers and bubbles than pets. That’s just how it goes."
sounds like it's more normal for dog and toddler to be bffs than your experience.
and of course i'm not gonna have normal children. we all fucking know that.

Where in that statement do I say they don’t like each other, much less some general statement about kids and dogs not getting along? 2-3 year old boys are obsessed with trucks and trains and legos. Vast majority will choose to play with a truck over a dog any time of day (playful puppies excluded). That doesn’t mean they don’t like dogs or vice versa.
CSLG has an infant under 1. In child development terms, that is worlds away from a 2.5 year old. Babies are curious but also less mobile and less capable of rough and unpredictable behavior. Toddler and dog interaction is the toughest period. A lot of that stuff is labeled cute “omg cute baby and dogs” but dogs simply tolerate it, but they don’t like being poked and prodded. It’s not actually “bff” in any real sense other than for social media fluff. I have tons of pics and videos of “bff” moments but that means jack shit.
Reality is it’s a lot of work teaching young kids the proper way to interact with dogs. Children don’t understand boundaries and have to be taught not to mess with the dog bowl, how to pet them, not to ride them like a pony, walk them on a leash etc. and once the kids get it and learn to respect the dog’s space, then a real relationship can develop. Until then, all dogs get annoyed, but the passive ones have more patience. This has nothing to do whether kids and dogs like each other.
Kids once they hit 5, which is basically a lifetime away from 2-3 year olds, are better about all that stuff, which is why I think every family with slightly older kids should have pets.
I don’t appreciate your twisting my words and making jokes about it being my son’s problem on top of the fact that you know my dog has been injured and having a rough time. You’re not some pumo that i expect to joke about it. This is why you have no irl friends. You’re so self absorbed that you have no idea how to act like a normal person.

They’re disagreeing with the statement you falsely attributed to me that “kids and puppydoods don’t like each other,” which is something I’ve never said and would in fact disagree with. I was making a completely different point about how it’s lot of work making sure very young kids and dogs interact the right way, and it’s often not enjoyable for the dogs, particularly unplayful dogs like mine, but social media paints a different picture.
I wouldn’t even care about you mischaracterizing what I said if you didn’t make it personal and joke that my son and dog don’t get along because my son is a sociopath. This is also particularly egregious given that you know my dog is confined to a crate due to his injury, so no fucking shit, a normal 2 year old is not interested in hanging out with an immobile dog with degenerative disc disease. You know you’re not actually “questioning” anything; you’re just joking around, but your autism is preventing you from understanding that people who actually know each other don’t joke around about people’s children like that.

Isn't your lit para theoretically your most skilled/useful para? Why put her in the bay where she'll be interrupted answering calls and greeting people?
