I need your help deciding my next move. For the sake of this exercise, assume divorcing/killing wife or running away are not an option.
My wife wants to move away from SoCal when her contract expires at the end of June. I told my wife that the ONLY place I would consider relocating is Colorado because it is closer to my family and friends and would give us a support network. She has agreed to move to Colorado and now I have to plan my next move. I have an interview tomorrow for a job in Boulder with a guy I used to work with, but if that doesn’t pan out I don’t know how hard it is going to get a job out of state. I think the Boulder job would be a big pay cut. If we move in July, my wife could work from home and cover our expenses while I take care of our daughter and look for a job. She thinks she can get another WFH job.
What do you think I should do?
Option A. Move to Colorado even if I don’t have a job lined up Option B. Stay in California until I can find a job in Colorado. Option C. Stay in California and just rent a place in OC until we have had more time to think through what we want to do. |

Boulder is actually kind of expensive though. Not sure there will be huge cost savings on housing. It will be good to be closer to family though. |
